About eaiou

Observer-preserving full-context peer-review journal.

What eaiou is

eaiou is a peer-review journal built around a single principle: the quality of a paper is independent of when it was submitted. Papers are sorted by quality signal (Q score), not by arrival date. The submission timestamp is sealed at receipt and never shown during evaluation.

Temporal Blindness

Most journals rank papers by recency. This introduces a structural bias: a paper submitted yesterday is more visible than a paper submitted last year, regardless of quality. eaiou enforces temporal blindness at the infrastructure level. Submission dates are cryptographically sealed. They cannot be displayed, sorted on, or indexed during review.

Bias can see time. Justice cannot.

Intelligence Blindness

Tandem to Temporal Blindness. A paper is evaluated on what it contributes — not on what kind of intelligence produced it. Every intelligence that contributes to a work has a coordinate in the record. None of those coordinates make the work better or worse by their presence alone.

The work is the argument. Everything else is provenance.

AI Involvement Disclosure

AI involvement is a first-class part of the scholarly record. Authors disclose level and nature of AI use at submission. This disclosure is sealed alongside the paper and cannot be altered. eaiou does not penalize AI-assisted work — it requires that it be documented honestly. Intelligence Blindness ensures the disclosure informs the record without biasing the score.

Full-context review

Reviewers are given the complete paper record: abstract, full text, AI disclosure, author ORCID, keywords, and version history. Nothing is withheld in the name of "blind review." The reviewer's job is to evaluate the work, not to play information-asymmetry games. Author identity is available; submission date is not.

Phase 1 — Invite-only

eaiou is currently in Phase 1: a limited, invite-only launch while the review pipeline and Q-scoring system are finalized. If you have a paper you want to submit, contact editor@eaiou.org.
